Much of our business story centers on the changes we haven’t made. We still raise our turkeys outdoors. We’ve been on the same farm for 87 years. Our partner farms and team have been with us for years. But we have made some changes along the way. For example, I enjoy thinking about all the ways TurkeyFest has evolved over the years. It’s hard to imagine that we once ran – literally, ran – fresh turkeys through the market for each pick-up. Or how we used scribbled notes on scrap paper to track orders. Sometimes change is good!

One very visible change you’ll see this season is our updated turkey label. After 18 years, we were due for a light refresh, and we even added a netted handle for easier handling. Turns out we’ve learned that turkeys can be cold and awkward to carry! You’ve likely noticed refreshed labels on our other products this year, and now our new turkey label finishes the project.

It’s a joy to be a central part of a holiday that’s rooted in gratitude and tradition, and we’re thankful for all our customers who see the difference in how we continue to raise our Ferndale turkeys. That’s something that hasn’t changed.

We’ll look forward to seeing you at Ferndale Market in the weeks ahead!
