Our Story at The Peterson Farm turkey entranced

Our Farm

Our heritage is evident when you visit the farm, where you’ll see our turkeys happily spending their summer days outside on the range.

History

Our story begins when our farm was founded by Dale Peterson, who had grown up in rural North Dakota and studied poultry science in college. He chose the land in the Little Cannon River Valley because of its ideal environment for raising turkeys outdoors. Soon after, Dale married Fern and together they fostered a family farm that has been running strong for three generations.

Raising Practices

Although the faces on our farm have changed over the past 80 years, our commitment to raising free-range, antibiotic-free, naturally processed turkeys has remained the same.

Partner Farms

Along with raising turkeys on our home farm, we work closely with partner farms that grow turkeys following our raising practices. We are proud to be able to expand opportunities for fellow independent, family farmers.
